Trouble with Conway?

The Oakland Press is reporting that there might be trouble with Shawn Conway this upcoming season.

Basically, Conway has some family issues, and ultimately Birmingham HC Chris Fahr stepped up and has been his legal guardian. The only problem is that this change in guardianship also changed Conway’s school district, since Coach Fahr lives in Clarkston:

Under the letter of the MHSAA law, even though Fahr is the Maples coach, since he lives in the Clarkston school district, Conway would be forced to enroll at Clarkston High School in the fall, making him a transfer and requiring him to sit out the fall sports season.

The article goes on to suggest that the Birmingham School Board could sign a waiver and allow Conway to stay in the District for his senior year but there are some people opposed to it because of “minor improprieties.”

Not quite sure what that means at this point, and I hadn’t heard anything about any issues with Conway (other than the family stuff which was reported earlier this year). Bernstein states that these could be dealt with internally by the football team, which suggests that they could be relatively minor things and that there are some politics going on here.
